Practice Manager
RVN A1Jo graduated as an RVN from Bristol University in 1998 and joined our team shortly after. Jo was Head Nurse from 2010 and took over the role of Practice Manager in February 2022.

Louise Ash
Clinical Director
BSc BVETMED MRCVSLouise was born and bred in the South West, and graduated from the Royal Veterinary College in 2011. She loves unusual pets and has experience with exotic animals like reptiles, birds and zoo animals. She enjoys showing and breeding Great Danes in her spare time, and has many pets at home, including a cat who thinks he is a dog!

Sandra Attwood
Clinical Director, Somerset Veterinary Emergency Clinic
MRCVSSandra graduated from the LMU in Munich in 2002 and later completed a PHD in parasitology. She joined our team in 2021 and has a keen interest in emergency medicine. She enjoys cold water swimming and can often be found in the Clevedon marine lake! Her children and many animals take up the rest of her time.

Sarah Cole
Veterinary Surgeon
MRCVSSarah graduated from the University of Liverpool in 2000 and has been in full-time general practice ever since, working initially with all creatures great and small, before concentrating on pets. She joined our team in 2017, and enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine, particularly soft tissue surgery and feline medicine, as our cat friendly advocate. Outside of work she enjoys running, cycling, exploring the great outdoors and sharing life with her mischievous cat, Esme.

Bianca Le Roux
Veterinary Surgeon
BSc BVSc MRCVSBianca graduated from the University of Pretoria in 2012. After completing a small animal internship in medicine and small animal surgery, she went to on to work at a referral hospital in Cape Town, before heading to the UK with her husband. She has a passion for medicine cases and soft tissue surgery, and loves gardening, baking, history and looking after her cats, Sputnik and Lorax.

Gil Nurse
Veterinary Surgeon
BVsc MRCVSGil qualified in 1992 and worked at his own practice in the South East before relocating to Somerset and joining our team in 2022. He loves the high standards of care we offer at our hospital, especially the overnight hospitalisation facilities and 24/7 service. He has two dogs and two horses, and enjoys going to the gym and horse riding (badly)!

Matt Read
Veterinary Surgeon
MRCVSMatt graduated from the University of Bristol in July 2024 and joined the team in September 2024. He has a keen interest in cardiology and feline medicine. At home, he has an energetic jack russel and a mischievous cat that like to team up to cause trouble! When he’s not looking after these two, he enjoys swimming and indoor rock climbing.

Kamila Galczynska
Veterinary Surgeon
MRCVSBorn and raised in Poland, Kamila moved to the UK to broaden her horizons and experience a new culture and joined us in 2021. She has a keen interest in orthopaedics and loves to chat – if you can’t already hear her, she’s probably not in the building! She has a boxer dog, a frenchie and three cats, and enjoys horse riding, hiking and playing the violin and piano.

Cheyenne Walburn
Veterinary Surgeon
Cheyenne graduated from the University of Bristol in August 2023, and joined our team in September 2023. She has a keen interest in soft tissue surgery, and enjoys meeting all of our client’s dogs and cats. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family, and going on nice walks through woods and along the beach. She has two dogs at home called Inka and Nova.

Scott McDougal
Veterinary Surgeon, Somerset Veterinary Emergency Clinic
MRCVSBorn and raised in Edinburgh, Scott graduated from the University of Glasgow in 2002. He began his career at a mixed practice where he was often calving at 3am, and later worked in various small animal practices. He joined us in 2021 after moving to Somerset with his family. He enjoys studying wildlife and has two dogs, a cat and a parrot at home.

Michael Maguire
Veterinary Surgeon – Somerset Veterinary Emergency Clinic
BVSc PgCSAEMS GPCert(DI) MRCVSMike is originally from Belfast and graduated from Bristol university in 2010. He has stayed and worked in the south west and Wiltshire since graduation. Mike has completed post graduate certificates in both Emergency and Critical Care, and diagnostic imaging, and has experience in working at several speciality hospitals including a dedicated veterinary ICU. He lives at home with a menagerie of 2 cats, 2 dogs and 2 birds.

Anna Klinger

MRCVSAnna studied at the University of Warmia and Mazury in Poland and has wanted to be a vet ever since she can remember! She has a passion for emergency care and joined our emergency clinic team in 2022. She has a bearded dragon and two dogs at home, and enjoys hiking and wall climbing in her free time.

Izabella Boda
Veterinary Surgeon
MRCVSOriginally from Hungary, Izabella moved to the UK in 2015 to work at an RSPCA wildlife hospital in Cheshire. She has a passion for all manner of exotic animals and, since moving to Somerset, has gained her certificate in exotic medicine. In her spare time, she loves walking, cooking, baking and gardening, but most of all writing – she is a published author in Hungary! Izabella’s home life centres around meeting the needs of Colossus, her grumpy marginated tortoise.

Alicia Jaques

BSc (Hons) RVN CC Ncert AnaesAlicia graduated from the University of Bristol in 2011 and now works as a clinical coach, supporting our student veterinary nurses. She has a particular interest in anaesthesia, surgical nursing and rabbit husbandry and welfare. In her spare time, she enjoys going for country walks with her Labradors and looking after her cats and rabbits.

Gaetano Bollino
Veterinary Surgeon
After graduating from the University of Veterinary Medicine of Camerino in Italy, Gaetano worked at practices in France and Poland and at his own clinic before settling in England in 2016. He has a passion for dermatology, soft tissue surgery and dentistry, and enjoys spending his spare time riding horses with his wife, gardening, catching up with friends and walking his dog, Oro.

Hannah Johnson
Deputy Head Nurse
RVN CCHannah joined the team in 2013 and has been with us ever since, in which time she has gained her Level 2 and Level 3 qualifications at Bridgwater and Cannington College. She has always loved animals and particularly enjoys meeting our exotic patients. At home she has a leopard gecko, Gordon, and a fluffy mongrel called Womble. In her spare time she can often be found rambling over the Quantocks with Womble!

Shannon Jordan
Deputy Head Nurse
RVNShannon joined the Quantock team in 2019 and qualified as a vet nurse two years later. She has a particular interest in feline nursing and has two cats of her own called Flossy and Freddie at home, as well as a dachshund called Frankie and a chihuahua called Rupert! When she’s not working, she loves walking her dogs in the Quantocks, baking and working on various arts and crafts projects.

Kayleigh Clark
Registered Veterinary Nurse
RVN CCI qualified from Hartpury College after studying a foundation degree in veterinary nursing science in 2017. I have been part of the quantock family since 2019. I am a clinical coach, which allows me to help trainee veterinary nurses. I am also currently undertaking a diploma in veterinary physiotherapy. I really enjoy inpatient care and nurse clinics, especially weight and mobility clinics as well as rehabilitation. When I am not at work, I enjoy running, going to the gym, yoga, and cross stitching.

Cate Anstie
Registered Veterinary Nurse
RVN CCCate trained as a veterinary nurse later in life but has always loved animals. She loves being a member of the team and has a particular interest in feline medicine, earning an ISFM certificate in feline nursing. She has a rescue cat called King Cole, who unfortunately has to live indoors due to a diagnosis of feline immunodeficiency virus, but who loves to play in his cat run built on the patio! Outside work she enjoys getting outdoors, running, walking and taking a dip in the sea!

RVNThe appropriately named Rachel joined our team in 2022, and was previously the owner and director of a small animal veterinary practice in the South East. She has two dogs and two horses of her own, and enjoys horse riding in her free time.

Hannah Puddy
Registered Veterinary Nurse
RVNHannah graduated from UOB in June 2023 with a first class honours. She loves anything fluffy with a bit of poodle in it, and has two cockapoos of her own at home. She once spent a month doing intense rubik’s cube training, but sadly still can’t solve one!

Yasmin Fox
Registered Veterinary Nurse
RVN NCert ECCYasmin rejoined the team in January 2023, and now mainly works at the Nether Stowey branch. She has a particular interest in emergency and critical care, and has a certificate of Veterinary Nursing in Emergency and Critical Care.
She has many pets at home, so is often busy looking after them all in her spare time. -
Georgia Doyle
Registered Veterinary Nurse
RVN CCGeorgia studied at Bridgwater and Taunton College and joined us in 2016. She loves having the opportunity to make a difference at work, and has a cat and a dog at home. She enjoys walking her dog around the Quantocks and spending time at home with her family, partner and animals. She also loves to travel and explore new countries!

Fiona McGuigan

RVNFiona studied at the Abbeydale Vet Nurse Training Centre and joined our team in 2022. She previously worked as an English teacher at a secondary school, and has a keen interest in medical nursing and providing gold standard care to our feline patients. She enjoys reading, watching films, exploring her local area and looking after her four cats.

RVNAlex studied animal management at college, achieving a distinction. She initially joined us on a work experience placement and is now training to become a nurse. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her beloved Staffordshire bull terriers, Winnie, Wilson and Rubie.

Lily Percival

Lily qualified as an RVN in June 2023 from the Univeristy of Bristol with a first class honours and has a particular interest in anaesthesia and feline osteoarthritis. In her spare time, lily loves to do something crafty like crochet or knitting or reading a good book with her 2 cats, 6 guinea pigs and 4 chickens.

Morgane completed her veterinary nursing degree at the University of Bristol in June 2024 and joined the team as an RVN soon after. She adores her senior rabbit, Fiver, and cuddles with the family cats! In her spare time, she enjoys crocheting and getting outdoors.”

RVNChloe qualified as an RVN in May 2021 and joined Quantock in March of 2024. She’s loves looking after all pets but has a particular interest in feline care. In her spare time Chloe loves doing arts and crafts, reading, aerial hoop and spending time with her 17 year old cat, Twinkle.

Emma Wyles

RVNEmma grew up in Cyprus and graduated from the Royal Veterinary College in 2021. Emma has experience of working in a busy referral hospital with a dedicated ICU. She has a particular interest in Emergency and Critical Care and infectious disease. Outside of work she enjoys trampolining and competes all over the UK. Emma also enjoys voluntary rescue work and goes abroad yearly to help educate shelters on how to minimise the spread of disease within shelters. This is where Emma rescued most of her pets from and is the happy owner of a dog, 6 cats and 2 rabbits.

RVN ISFMCertFNJenna is our twilight RVN, she studied in Bridgwater and qualified in 2018. Jenna has a keen interest in personalised crafts, sugar craft, baking wedding cakes and anything creative where she can bring to life new ideas. She loves keeping busy and enjoys spending time with her husband and two young boys. Jenna is also the proud owner to her cat called Greyie and a rescue chihuahua called Sydney.

Jess started her career as a volunteer while undertaking a veterinary care assistant course and is now completing her nursing training. She has a keen interest in dog behaviour and loves building a rapport with our regular clients and patients. She has a border collie and two cats at home, and enjoys horse riding, swimming and spending time with her family.

Student Veterinary Nurse
Tess worked with military horses before moving back to Somerset to start her vet nurse training. She loves working with animals and tackling new challenges, and has a lurcher of her own who likes swimming, sunbathing and naps! In her free time, she enjoys horse riding, hill walking and playing the guitar, but you might also recognise her from her cameo role in the Downton Abbey film!

Marie is 2nd year student at the university of Bristol studying vet nursing and companion animal behaviour. Marie has a love for German Shepherds and spends her free time with her two young children, husband and cats Bobby and Smudge.

Josh lives locally, first coming to Quantock Veterinary Hospital in 2018 for work experience. He is now a 3rd year student studying veterinary nursing and companion animal behaviour at the University of Bristol and enjoying the uni experience. -

Emily initially started her journey as a work experience here, when in 2023 she became an animal care assistant as she has a passion for working with animals. At home she has a golden retriever and three guinea pigs which like to keep her busy.

I came to Quantock vets for work experience which I had to complete for my college course , after I had finished my work experience hours I continued to volunteer at Quantock Vets out of pure interest into the veterinary industry and my passion for animals. I have now completed my second year of college where I studied Animal Management and I have secured the role of an Animal Care Assistant and then hope to become a Veterinary Nurse in the future.
At home I have a lovely Cockapoo named Fenton, and in my spare time I play lots of sports including netball and football as well as going for lots of walks.

I initially came to Quantock Vets on work experience in school and from there my passion for animals grew. I studied A-level biology, English and criminology at college and I am now working at Quantock Vets as an animal care assistant with the dream of becoming a veterinary nurse in the near future. At home I have a cockerdor, two cats, gerbils, a bearded dragon and a couple of horses! In my spare time you’ll find me exploring new places or drawing.

Sam is a qualified veterinary nurse and spent time working at a practice in Taunton and a wildlife centre before joining our reception team. She has achieved the gold receptionist award and leads our fabulous reception team. She is a busy mum, and the proud owner of two Jack Russells, Poppy and Monty.

Georgina had previously worked as a Dog Groomer for six years before joining our team in 2022. In her spare time, she likes to take her two Jack Russell’s out for long walks, helping at home on the farm and hacking out on the horse around the Quantocks.

Shanice had a variety of jobs before settling in our reception team, and has never looked back. In her spare time, she enjoys going for long walks with her family and spending time with her many animals. She has six cows, nine chickens, two ducks and two dogs at home!

Sharon has worked at our hospital since 2011. She loves Boxer dogs, as she grew up surrounded by them, and hopes to get one of her own in the future!

Receptionist
Liz has many years of experience under her belt, having worked as a veterinary receptionist since 1984. She joined our team in 2022 and holds a range of responsibilities behind the scenes! She has a Border collie and two golden retrievers at home, and enjoys swimming and walking in her free time.

Leah Broad
Receptionist
Leah joined the team in August 2024 and has been a Veterinary Receptionist since 2021. Before this role, Leah worked with wildlife and completed two animal management courses in college. Leah is exotics crazy and particularly loves all things feathery. At home Leah has a Bearded Dragon called Maud, 2 feisty snakes and a Leopard Gecko called Gordon, along with an aviary full of budgies to help keep her busy!

Kayla joined us in October 2022 to be part of our admin team.
In her spare time she enjoys doing any outdoor activity such as horse riding, surfing and walking the dogs. She has a Springerdor and a horse to keep her busy. -

Jackie manages the complex areas of practice finance and bookkeeping. She also occasionally steps in as an additional receptionist when needed.

Jo joined us in 2020 and has never looked back, as she loves getting to work with our friendly team! She enjoys a range of administrative responsibilities and is currently working towards an SQP qualification. She lives locally with her husband and their two dogs, three cats and tortoise, and is an amateur poet and wild swimming enthusiast in her spare time.

Becky is our longest serving team member, and is responsible for ordering, stock control and managing our hospital shop. She also assists clients with their insurance claims. Outside of work, she is kept busy with her cat and various other small furries.
