Amy is a registered Veterinary Surgeon. She grew up in the Highlands of Scotland and decided she wanted to be a vet after reading James Herriott’s All Creatures Great and Small! She graduated from Bristol Vet School in 2012 after doing a further degree in Veterinary Pathology at the Royal Veterinary College in 2010.
Her first job took her to mixed practice in Northern Ireland, where she learned a whole new vocabulary from the farmers! One year later, she came back to the West Country and worked as a mixed animal locum in Cornwall, Devon and Somerset for two years. After a short stint in the government veterinary service, she decided she missed the animals and owners too much and came back to practice for Quantock Veterinary Hospital in July 2017.
Amy enjoys all parts of veterinary practice but reserves particular enthusiasm for dentistry, anaesthesia and out of hours emergencies.
Amy lives in the Quantocks with her very naughty whippet ‘Toast’, partner Richard and his three children. She is happiest when exercising, particularly if it is yoga, or when eating, particularly if it is cake. She has also recently joined the local skittles team, but hasn’t played an actual match yet!
